Whts Happiness ???

This is one of my greatest discussions ever (6 hour long – 00:00 hrs to 6:00 am)… Before starting off with the theme i should introduce you to 4 people among whom this discussion took place.

Rahul : (a.k.a Saladi,ITEM) my langoti yar (family friend and 1st – 4th classmate ). It is difficult to describe him in few sentences, he deserves a blog to be written on his name :P..Well in few words he is a sheer genius,an allrounder, and a famous ITEM one had ever seen (he surely agrees to this) :D…(Most our thoughts match)

Ravi Kiran V: (a.k.a Pilla) Got close to this guy in second year. One thing you will first observe is his height. Anyways this guy is a good dancer(my guru),guitarist, player and an alltime flirt :d. If you are close to this guy he will do anything for you..(Doesn’t really agree to you quickly)

Srivatsava Daruru: (a.k.a Daruru,Dadda) This guy is highly talented.. Topper of our batch… Great philosopher and a poet..Plans to do lots of things but doesn’t really come into limelight… Right now in Texas Austin doing his MS.. (Well this guy actually thinks twice before doing anything..)

Avinesh PVS: (a.k.a Avi,Avigates) Well nothing much about this guy. He has lots of plans to do. Gets inspired quickly from anything. Tries to all things least bothers whether he can do or not.. This guys mind is very fickle. Only thing is that he has lots of thoughts in mind and end up implementing few things (good thing is that atleast few things are done :D)..About his aspirations and dreams i will need another post.Anyways Continuing with my post.

Ok the story goes on like this..

It was the day Daruru got his bike. Rest of us thought we have to get a treat from him and we all went for dinner @ Olive gardens. We came back to college @ around 00:00 hrs. I was the initiator of this discussion. I asked “Whts Happiness to You???” Is it money, fame, power or anything else?? (theme derived from a Hindi Movie)..Ravi said “Happiness to me is money…I want money so that i can buy gifts for others” :O (he is a gift freak.. likes to give gifts to people close to him).. Daruru said “Well for me money is very important”.. Rahul and I were like whts the point in having money, stress and not having mental peace..Then I said “Consider that you have an option of choosing between a 20 lac job (which sucks big time) and a 12 lac (which you really like) which one will you take up?? “.. Ravi immediately said “20 lac job…”..I was like “You are not atall happy in the process of earning money still you wanna take up the job????“.. He was still adamant of taking that job…Rahul and I were the one’s supporting happiness is in doing the process not in result..i.e. If it is true that one is no atall happy doing the work then how can he/she be happy???.. But Ravi and Daruru also had their point that they are more happy from the result… i.e. what ever happens to them they don’t care, but they see happiness in the happiness of others… Well considering the fact that we fought for around 6 hours on the same issue, finally we came to a decision that both process and result are equally important for happiness. It is how one balances them.. This was pretty old discussion so couldn’t actually remember how this discussion took place for 6 hours.. (Argument between two opposite thoughts can take any no. of hours).. Ultimately people agreed to each others thoughts and respected them :D…

After this i came to know everyone has their own point of view of happiness. But yeah one thing is for sure is that Happiness is what you really feel from inside, if you try to fake it from outside there is no point.. You can fake it on your friends but you cannot fake yourself. If one cannot achieve after lots of hardwork one should be happy that he/she atleast tried hard, but they are destined for that. Happiness is what one considers in every possible thing. For example: If there is breakup of a couple (bf and gf) .. There is no point in being unhappy.. Rather one can think what has happened has happened for good (their ideas are not matching and probably they cannot get along) and live their lives happily..So life is really short, live happily forever..

Well lam a kindof person who can be happy from what I have and what I achieve. What kindof person are you???

Heyy avi … it was a very good post for a beginner!!
Nice start ra keep it up…..

However, it was clear that as it was just your second post you were not able to write a post bigger than this. You started of very well describing the characters but I felt you could have done more justice to the discussion that went on. I was expecting a lot more insights into the long conversation that went on.
But then I can understand that u are still a beginner.

It is seriously a nice start and a good topic to start off with. Now this has further inspired me to start blogging as well. All the best šŸ™‚ ……

  5. Avinesh says:

@ rahul : thanks dude..I too thought to write a longer discussion but couldn’t remember longer version of it.. Anyways next next dekho…

  6. Ashutosh says:

    Hi Avi,

Nice start of your blogs. Talking about what happiness is, it is all relative. Relative to every single person, basesd on their experience in the past.

And no is is right or wrong, every one is unique…

  9. Avinesh says:

@ashu : thanks dude.. yeah thats what I concluded.. anyways in somethings happiness is not relative atall.. like the couple example i gave there..there happiness and unhappiness is clearly defined..

  10. Avinesh says:

  13. samuels says:

some interesting constructive conclusions , well done šŸ™‚

  14. harith says:

The two stances your two parties took are only two ways of being happy. One is a personal thing while the other is communal. So, I can’t really pick one. šŸ˜‰

Nice to see you blog. What’s up with the F.American English through out the post? That’s not very readable, to ME šŸ˜›

  15. Rishita says:

Good topic for your first ‘real’ post.
Remember,we had a similar discussion once. And i was for the 20lacs. Still i am for it, but no one is ready to pay me that big an amount :P.

  16. dev says:

    hi avi,
it is a nice start, keep it up.
well i have small question?lets make ur example slightly complex?
u have gal friend,u and she love each other, but after some time she wants to leave you because of misunderstanding.but u still love her.so my question is (if leave her and make her happy) or( be with her and make her unhappy),think that at that situation she does listen to your explanation, ask for only answer i.e. yes or no?
    expecting a reply from u? šŸ™‚ šŸ˜€
am i became more philosophical? šŸ˜›

  17. Avinesh says:

@gowri dev: thanks ra..Well I would definitely leave her if it is not a small misunderstanding and if we are not getting along together..If I really love her and if she thinks that being separated she can be happy, her happiness is what i want.. I would surely feel bad that we are not together. But probably it was destined that way. Dude life is not about happiness all the time. Its the unhappiness that makes happiness sweeter..Being unhappy all the time has no point right. What Iam saying is just derive happiness from everything you have.

  18. Avinesh says:

@harith: no F in public. I have a good image you see :p…

  19. Avinesh says:

@rishi: lol@ u..so thats why be happy with what you have :P..

  20. Guess Me says:

Dude .. forgot Happiness Club .. :)) … thts the real happiness for us.. šŸ˜› .. rofl

  21. ravali says:

hey am totally for the 20lac thing
comon, few nights of unhappiness for 8 more lacs šŸ˜›
    unfair comparision, dont u think?

  22. Avinesh says:

@guess me: yeah happiness club actually spreads happiness :D..

@ravali: Preparing for MBA na you will obviously be attracted towards money..What i intended was money is something in life but it shouldn’t be everything…

  23. hanuma says:

PS The right person to contact about this is professor bipin šŸ˜‰

  25. Chetan says:

    Nice topic da …

I think, in this 20 vs 8 situation, more than 80% ppl opt for 20lks ..

And the percentage decreases at high rate with the difference in salaries.. šŸ™‚

  26. geetika says:

    aboo aboo avi blogging ….
    Good going šŸ™‚

FYI….. Keep me updated with these jobs… both pay more than what I earn now :D….

  27. geetha says:

I am all for 12 lak job !! I am still with my option … rather I have a new dimension to the problem .. 20 lakh job.. interesting but requires on average 15 hours work a day … and 12 lakh job not so interesting .. but u have time to do other things ..

    I am going for 12 lakh .. šŸ˜€ ..

antea am choosing verticals(IT/finance/marketing) which are less hectic than the hectic one which I like ..

  28. Srivatsava says:

Nice blog.. but I expected more insight into the discussion we had. The discussion was fun coz we never knew how the time flew. I feel that life has to be a balance of both. U cannot just do whatever your mind says because it is really fickle and u end up doing nothing. Neither can u go about your goal without thinking about the happy life you’ll be sacrificing. An ideal life would be a mixture of both :).

A nice conclusion and a story kinda buildup to the discussion would have made it more interesting but this is very good for a beginner :). keep blogging..

  29. dileepv says:

@geeth : yeah.. i also prefer less hectic job than interesting job.. Life mein masti aur time pass karne ka… working 15 hours is too much.. We can rather have lots of extra activities..anyways our ideas match :P..

@Sri : yeah dude..It would have been much better..Hope to reach your expectations in the next one..

@Vaka : Happiness club aa.. antha ledu.. anyways edo oka roju raasta :D..
